Terms of Service

By using Zarf, you agree to these terms. They are short, plain, and binding.

1. What Zarf is

Zarf is a private app for sharing photos with a small group of friends. There is no public feed, no algorithm, no advertising, and no public discovery. The app is provided by Zarf ("we," "us," or "Zarf").

2. Who can use Zarf

You must be at least 13 years old to use Zarf. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and consented to these terms on your behalf.

You may have one account. Do not create accounts on behalf of other people without their explicit permission.

3. Your account

You are responsible for activity on your account. Do not share your sign-in credentials with anyone. Notify us promptly at mertaslan16@gmail.com if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

If you sign in with Apple, your account is tied to your Apple ID. If you sign in with email, it is tied to that email address.

4. Your content and conduct

"Content" means anything you add to Zarf — photos, the short written notes ("lines") you leave on photos, and reactions. Your content remains yours; you retain all rights to it.

By adding content, you grant Zarf a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store it, process it as required to operate the service, and display it to members of the same group exactly as the app is designed to work. This license terminates when you delete the content or your account, except that backups may persist for up to 30 days afterward.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You agree not to post, upload, or send any content — whether a photo, a written line, or any other content — that:

• You do not own or do not have permission to share.
• Sexually exploits or abuses minors. We have zero tolerance for this material and will report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law. This applies to photos and to text.
• Harasses, bullies, threatens, intimidates, or stalks any person.
• Is hateful, or degrades or attacks a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
• Encourages or promotes self-harm, suicide, or violence.
• Is otherwise illegal, obscene, or objectionable under applicable law.

You also agree not to behave abusively toward other members. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. If we have reason to believe content or conduct violates these rules or applicable law, we may remove the content and/or suspend or permanently terminate the responsible account without notice.

5. Reporting, blocking, and moderation

Zarf gives you tools to control your experience directly inside the app:

• Report — long-press any comment, or a photo's byline, to report it. Reports reach us at mertaslan16@gmail.com, independently of your group. Reporting a comment hides it from you immediately.
• Block — you can block any member. Blocking immediately hides that person's lines and reactions from you and prevents them from writing on your photos.

We act on reports of objectionable content and abusive users within 24 hours — removing the content and/or ejecting the responsible user as warranted. You can also email mertaslan16@gmail.com directly with the details (group name if appropriate, time of the incident, description).

6. Group dynamics

Zarf works inside small private groups. Inviting someone to your group means you trust them to see your photos for as long as you are both members. We cannot intervene in interpersonal disputes within a group — leave the group if you no longer trust its members.

When you leave a group or delete your account, photos, lines, and reactions you contributed before that point remain in past weeks' archives for the remaining group members. They are part of the group's shared history.

7. Service availability

We work to keep Zarf running but do not guarantee continuous availability. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to your use of Zarf is limited to the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months (which, today, is zero).

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

8. Termination

By you: Profile → Delete account. Permanent and immediate. See the Privacy Policy for details on what gets deleted.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your account has been inactive for an extended period (currently 24 months), or if we discontinue the service entirely. Where reasonable, we will give you advance notice and the opportunity to download your content.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top and notify you in the app the next time you open it. Continuing to use Zarf after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you may delete your account.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to Zarf will be resolved in the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, except where applicable consumer-protection law grants you the right to bring claims in your local courts.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain in effect.
